Honey Locust Farms

Honey Locust Farms is a barn wedding and event venue on the southern edge of the Cincinnati area. Located just south of Piner KY (a blink-and-you-miss-it country town), Honey Locust Farms is a working angus beef operation in the gently rolling hills of the Northern Kentucky countryside. The venue itself is a climate controlled steel barn with concrete flooring.

Wedding Package

Inside the barn, you’ll find a blank slate to decorate and design to your desires. The space is handicap accessible and has a capacity of 250. The starting rate for a rental is $2,250, which includes tables and chairs, and an on-site ceremony at their pergola, which can be moved indoors if the weather does not co-operate. The barn has a large catering kitchen, and bathrooms are inside the barn with plumbing.

There are no “complete packages” here, and they have an open policy with respect to catering and other vendors. Like any venue, they can recommend certain vendors from past experience, but as they focus on offering space, they let you pick and plan those details of your ceremony.

A beautiful setup for a wedding

One unusual feature of Honey Locust is you get the space for two and a half days. This allows you to do much of the decorating, set-up, tear down and clean up at a relatively leisurely pace which also lends itself to DIY couples who are looking to execute their own unique ideas and style, and/or save money. Setup, tear down, and cleanup is available at an additional cost beyond the $2,250 (inquire for pricing).

Location and Nearby Hospitality

Parking is ample on the grass and some gravel on the grounds. The facility is located off of KY-17 (Madison Pike), a major state route which intersects with I-275 15 miles to the north, about 1 mile south of it’s intersection with KY-16, another well-maintained state route. I-75 is about 8 miles to the west. Nearby, there’s very limited amenities or hotels. A few hotels can be found within about 10 miles, and a 15 mile radius begins hitting hotels near Florence and I-275 south of Covington.
